WCLC & mkodo: Digital Wallet Integration

As player expectations continue to evolve around convenience, speed, and seamless mobile experiences, lottery operators are increasingly looking for ways to modernise traditional player journeys. To support this shift, we worked with long standing client WCLC to introduce digital wallet integration within their Lotto Spot app, this has enabled players to add eligible winning tickets directly to their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for redemption at participating retail locations. 

The objective was simple: reduce friction in the redemption process while creating a more intuitive and connected player experience. Traditionally, redeeming lottery winnings can involve multiple steps, creating unnecessary friction for players. By allowing winning tickets to be securely stored within a player’s mobile wallet, WCLC aimed to make the process faster, simpler, and more accessible through a mobile first experience. Working closely with WCLC, we designed and delivered a streamlined integration that allowed players to seamlessly add winning tickets directly from the Lotto Spot app into their preferred digital wallet. The solution was developed with usability and accessibility at its core, ensuring the experience felt familiar, secure, and easy to use across both iOS and Android devices. 

The response following launch demonstrated strong player adoption and engagement almost immediately.  

The early success of the feature highlighted the growing demand for frictionless digital experiences within the lottery sector. By simplifying the redemption journey and reducing barriers for players, the integration helped create a more convenient and engaging experience while encouraging continued interaction with the Lotto Spot platform. Beyond improving usability, the project also demonstrates how lottery operators can modernise traditional retail based journeys through thoughtful digital innovation. As consumer behaviours continue shifting toward mobile first interactions, seamless wallet integrations represent an important step in bridging physical and digital experiences within the lottery ecosystem.
